The Apothecary also stocks the Sub Rosa brand of spa skincare formulas, the SRA homecare line, and an ever-changing curated assembly of artisanal bath and body products, candles, crystals and jewelry. Since 2015, Sub Rosa has offered a full range of aromatherapeutic products and provided services and education on the art and science of true aromatherapy.
OUR FOUNDER
Julia Meadows, an early pioneer in the field of aromatherapy in the USA, trained in the UK and France before opening her first apothecary in 1990 in Ojai, CA. An avid researcher, designer and formulator of natural products, Julia authored ‘Natural Bodycare’ in 1998 and started formulating ‘Signature’ product lines for the emerging resort spa industry that same year.
